Terms and Information
When a place becomes available, we will contact you to let you know. Payment is required in advance to confirm your child's place on a term. You will be given first refusal to attend the next term, on the 6th session of the block.
If we are forced to cancel a session, due to extreme weather or other reasons, we will let you know as soon as possible and rearrange the session to follow the term. The block is priced to account for a child missing an occassional session - there are no refunds for a missed session. If you wish to cancel membership mid-term, a refund for the remainder of the term will only be possible if the place is filled.
For our general terms and conditions, please follow this link. The above information supercedes our general terms.

SCHOOL HOLIDAY ADVENTURE FOR 9-14 YEAR OLDS
If the weather is bad, we may be forced to adjust our plans, but we have plenty of options to keep going in most conditions that the Cumbrian weather throws at us.
Take a look at the individual event listings for the activities on each day. These will be from a range of Archery, Canoeing, Kayaking, Raft Building, Team Challenges, Orienteering, and Woodland Skills.
Drop-off is usually behind the Tea rooms, near to the education cabin at Talkin Tarn - ready for a 10am activity start. We aim to finish the activities for around 3pm. Please remember to bring a packed lunch, FULL CHANGE OF CLOTHES and SPARE SHOES, and any medication that you might need. We have waterproof tops available for you to borrow, and you will have access to warm showers and changing rooms incase you fall in the tarn.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES FOR OLDER KIDS IN CARLISLE, CUMBRIA
Looking for the ideal birthday party idea for older kids? If they've outgrown the softplay, trampoline and craft parties in Carlisle, then an adventure experience could be just what you're looking for!
Our core activities of Archery, Canoeing, Kayaking and Stand Up Paddle Boarding are ideal for small groups looking to have fun. These can easily be booked through our online calendar for up to 8 participants, or get in touch for larger groups.
Many parents have made the most of Talkin Tarn and kept costs down by arranging a picnic and cake to follow the activity. If the weather is a worry then there are a few options for shelter, here at Talkin Tarn.
For small groups, our waterfront cabin can be made available, with large windows to watch the fun on the water and enjoy a round of cake, the log cabin for a more traditional party space, and our repurposed parachute tarpaulin in the woods for an outdoor feel.
If you're booking an activity through our website as a birthday celebration, please let us know. If you'd like to arrange a party space at Talkin Tarn for your event, get in touch before you book so that we can check availability. Additional charges apply to use our waterfront cabin or the log cabin.
