We're just outside Brampton in the northern fringes of the Eden Valley and Pennines. Explore this beautiful lake with a stunning backdrop of woodland and Pennine scenery. And after the last year or so of difficulties, we will operate in a Covid secure manner that takes heed of all professional advice.

Paddle our Canadian style, open canoes around Talkin Tarn as we guide you through basic techniques. We'll also introduce games and challenges to improve your speed and coordination. Communication is key to the success of this activity and the benefits of this are seen immediately. A number of games and challenges are incorporated into the activity depending on your desired outcomes.

Canoeing taster sessions for beginners are our speciality. Our versatile, open boats allow us to cater for groups of varying abilities. This enables people to experience a new activity in a safe and supportive environment. Adaptations can easily be made so that the boats are inclusive for everyone.

If you are inspired by our Canadian canoe sessions, then book onto one of our courses. We provide British Canoeing Paddlesport Start and Discover Awards throughout the year. Click here for more details and to book your course.

We also work with other training providers who can provide more advanced training. This is based around British Canoeing development courses on Talkin Tarn and in the Lake District.

We don't just do instructor led canoeing sessions. We hope to operate our usual canoe hire service as Pandemic restrictions are relaxed. Please check our Facebook Page for up-to-date information.

All being well, our larger open canoes will once again be available for hire on Talkin Tarn at weekends and during school holidays between Easter and October. Explore the lake with a small family group or friends in your bubble.

After paddling, you might like to take part in an archery at Talkin Tarn to fill out your day. Once we are open properly you will be able to pop for an ice cream and wander through the mature woodland.
