We'll take the lead and run every activity on the day or, if you prefer, we'll help your team to manage some self-guided activities while we deliver the more technical adventures.

The price of our packages is based on the number of groups, sessions, staffing, and facility requirements. For 2024, prices start at £200+vat, with most activity packages for a class of 30 costing between £600-£800+vat. We've written an article about pricing here.

All of the instructing team working with your group are trained and qualified to do so, each being subject to an Enhanced DBS check. We hold an AALA licence (R2398), are fully risk assessed with £10 million public liability insurance.

For the majority of school visits, we hire the education cabin at Talkin Tarn as a private base for your group. As the resident activity provider here at Talkin Tarn Country Park, we are best placed to know the venue and provide the best possible service for you. The equipment that you will use has been sourced from premium manufacturers to ensure that you have the best possible experience.

Created around your desired learning outcomes and goals, each activity package is bespoke. Let’s have a chat about your hopes for your event and we will tailor an itinerary around your needs. Whilst most of our outdoor adventure and team building activities are great for years 5/6 through to college students, we do have some options available for younger children. Top picks for school groups are Archery, Canoeing, Kayaking, Raft Building, Orienteering and The Treasure Chest Challenge (Problem Solving). Our land based activities can even be brought to your school.

We are AALA accredited, all of our activities are fully risk assessed and each one of our friendly, experienced staff hold an enhanced DBS check.

Adventure experiences with us range from school activity days with an emphasis on learning outside the classroom to fun reward days. These activities are lots of fun and highly engaging, meaning that they also work well for youth group events, birthday party activities, holiday clubs and day camps at our Cumbria venue or in your school grounds.

Why not combine physical activity with learning outside the classroom to create the ultimate engaging and fun leadership activities for high school students and primary school students alike? Archery and team building challenges can work brilliantly on your very own school feld. Alternatively, bring your pupils for a day on the water at our activity centre base at Talkin Adventures, Talkin Tarn Country Park, Brampton, it’s only a stone’s throw from Carlisle in northern Cumbria.

The National Curriculum requires that all students should ‘take part in adventurous activity challenges both individually and within a team’, as part of the physical education syllabus. We can both tick that box and surpass the requirements by providing a fulflling and exciting activity day with little to no organisation and work by you. Of course, we actively promote your participation in your adventure activities, as shared experiences promote and help to consolidate valuable relationships between teacher and pupil.

In addition to school activities, we provide a range of adventure experiences for families to enjoy. During the school holidays our adventure day camps provide the ideal opportunity for kids to blow off some steam and spend time in the outdoors, away from screens and other distractions. Our day camps are a non-residential “summer camp”, or “holiday club”, providing an “outward bound-like” experience and a break for parents during the school holidays.
